The heartwarming queer comedy FOUR MOTHERS, directed by Darren Thornton, follows an unusual family of choice. The film celebrated its world premiere at the London Film Festival 2024, where it won the Audience Award.
The screening will be followed by a moderated panel that translates the themes of the film into the reality of life and asks questions about poverty in old age and self-determined life in old age, but also gives caregivers themselves a chance to speak. What is the reality of family caregivers and how can everyday aids relieve them?
The panel includes Elke Schlautmann from the “Kontaktstelle PflegeEngagement Tempelhof-Schöneberg”, Andreas Schütz from “Queer Pflege”, Cindy Berger(known from the pop duo Cindy & Bert) and Norbert Wohlan, both former family caregivers - everyday helpers for more than 8 years - as well as the CEOs of the everyday help provider Careship Jamie Hartmann and Jonas Behrend. The conversation will be moderated by Bernd Pohlmann, host of the podcast Gemeinsamkeiten.
