This series highlights strong, unusual women across different countries and decades who have fought their way creatively, determinedly, and quite successfully – in politics, religion, music, and society.
GIRLS & GODS examines the conflict between women's rights and religion and seeks possible solutions. In a groundbreaking, personal journey, FEMEN activist Inna Shevchenko meets women who rebel against religion, but also religious feminists who defend their faith and seek to reform it with progressive and feminist values. They are all united by one conviction: women are magnificent. No god—neither in heaven nor on earth—may deny them their rights or subordinate them to men.It's about a realistic utopia, an attempt to break down patriarchy.
