Agnes (Eva Victor), a university literature professor, is still struggling with the aftermath of a sexual assault that occurred three years ago on her campus when she was just a doctoral student. Understandably, the traumatic experience continues to haunt her. But she seems to be alone in this struggle, as everyone around her appears to be moving on quickly. Only Agnes remains completely trapped in what happened to her. She finds support, however, in her close friend Lydie (Naomi Ackie), while simultaneously experiencing a budding romance with Gavin (Lucas Hedges).
