Nadja combines dark soundscapes with atmospheric cinema. The name and musical aesthetic of the project are inspired, among other things, by Michael Almereyda’s surreal vampire film Nadja (1994).
Originally founded in Toronto and based in Berlin for more than ten years, the project is known for its live soundtracks, in which films are reinterpreted through Nadja’s distinctive doomgaze sound.
On the occasion of the 4K restoration of Nadja, the band now returns to one of its early inspirations and develops a new live soundtrack created specifically for the film.
