At 28, Jean-Luc Godard (Guillaume Marbeck) is obsessed with film. He hasn't made one yet, though. Instead, he writes reviews for other people's films for the Parisian film magazine Cahiers du cinéma. But his desire to finally step behind the camera himself grows ever stronger. Moreover, his colleagues, including Claude Chabrol (Antoine Besson) and François Truffaut (Adrien Rouyard), have long since brought acclaimed cinematic art to the screen. So Godard secures the collaboration of Jean-Paul Belmondo (Aubry Dullin) and the American actress Jean Seberg (Zoey Deutch), thus managing to attract a financier for his first film project: Breathless.
