Where cinema meets civic duty.
Movies and social media can move us. They open our eyes to social issues, give language to things we’ve felt but couldn’t name, and spark important conversations. But on their own, they will never be a substitute for real action. Solidarity doesn’t happen from a cinema seat or a phone screen; it happens when we take what moved us and turn it into a movement. That’s why ReSee Movies is proud to partner with Emily Gant of @thenotmyjobpod for what may be our most important cinema event to date.
PLAY YOUR PART is a one-day-only event at the Filmrauschpalast in Moabit, built around a simple idea: art should inspire action.
Emily leads a double life many of us will recognize: a full-time job on one side, a growing community as a content creator on the other. Somehow, in between it all, she makes time to show up for the causes she believes in. She’s living proof that you don’t need endless free time to make a difference - only the willingness to start.
What to expect.
We’ll open with a program of short films curated to shine a light on pressing social issues, from housing and migration to extremism, climate, and the everyday struggles that shape our communities.
When the films end, the real work begins. Local organizations effecting real change in their communities will be right there in the room, ready to talk about what they do and how you can get involved. No pressure and no commitment required, just open conversations with people doing the work every day.

Maybe you’ve walked out of a film feeling fired up but unsure where to point that energy. Maybe you want to give back but don’t know where to start or who to ask. Or maybe you’re already an organizer, looking to meet new allies, share ideas, and grow your network. Wherever you are on that path, there’s a place for you here.
