The young journalist Anne ten Hoff is killed in her apartment in Munich. After a long interrogation, Chief Inspector Hanns von Meuffels elicits a confession from the unsuccessful musician Mischa Eigner. Corry Hüsken, a friend of the murder victim, doubts what the musician did and whether jealousy was the motive.
