Maria is a young theater actress who has never had a prominent role. Therefore, she decides to follow her brother's advice and uses a new drug that promises to improve users' performance. Although her performance improves, the side effects of the drug are unknown and Maria's mental state is affected every time she takes a pill. She will have to decide whether she’ll risk her life, attaining glory, or whether to give the substance up and, consequently, live the rest of her days in oblivion.
