Vinylrausch

The VINYLRAUSCH is a private event that you can only attend with an invitation!

The event takes place on the third Thursday of each month and begins at 7:30 PM at theSputnik Kino am Südstern , Höfe am Südstern, third courtyard. Access is via Hasenheide 54 or Körtstr. 17, 10967 Berlin.

The VINYLRAUSCH is free – there will be a 'hat' on site, so everyone can decide for themselves how they can support this cultural offering…

When was the last time you listened to a music album all the way through? And when was the last time you heard it the way the musicians and sound engineers originally intended? That must have been a long time ago, because classic rock, jazz, or pop albums were mixed for vinyl playback.

So if we want to hear the great classic albums the way they were played, recorded, and mixed by the bands back then, we need to listen to a very good vinyl pressing on a very good system, as loud as possible.

And that's exactly what we do at Vinylrausch: we introduce you to selected album classics and then listen to good music together - loudly and with full concentration in a dark cinema room, with the song lyrics projected onto the screen and the crackling of the needle as it hits the first groove as the only "background noise".

So a vinyl rush goes something like this:

• Introduction with explanations of the music compilation and intro to the first record, usually the album of the month .
• Listening to the record with A and B sides in a dark room, the lyrics and a few photos are shown on the screen parallel to the music.
• pause
• Introduction to the first accompanying record, of which only one side is played – with the lyrics on the screen.
• Listening from one side of the record.
• Introduction to the second accompanying record, again only one side is played – again with projected texts.
• After about two hours, the vinyl rush is over and we have time to talk about the music in the Sputnik Bar and sober up again ;-)
